TRAVEL LEAGUE REGISTRATION

The Puritas Baseball League is now holding registration for the 2011 season in our travel division. Teams can register on line by clicking the "On Line Registration" link at the top of this page.  Registration fee is $225.

Puritas features play in the following divisions: 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U.

In addition, each division has two levels of play, AAA and AA.  A brief description of the levels is as follows:

AAA - Highly competitive teams that play a heavy travel schedule and in several tournaments.  Teams are usually comprised of players from various communities.

AA - Teams play a lighter schedule and only a couple of tournaments.  Teams are usually comprised of players from one community.  However, Puritas does not have restrictions based on community location of players.

Birth date cutoff is May 1, 2011.

Finances:  Teams are responsible for supplying their own equipment and uniforms.  Teams are also required to pay umpires prior to each game and supply one new game ball (purchased through the league) for all games.  The only fee collected by the league is the registration fee.  Teams are also required to turn in a $100 forfeit fee.  That check is held in the league office and not deposited unless a team forfeits. If a team does not forfeit, the check is returned at the end of the season.

Fields:  Teams are required to supply a home field for all home games.  If you are a manager of a Cleveland-based team (66% rostered players must reside in Cleveland) Maplewood is available for all your games with no fee.  Maplewood is available on a limited basis for suburban teams needing home dates.

Schedules:  Teams normally play between an 18-22 game schedule.  Season starts in mid-April and runs through July 16th.  League playoffs begin July 18th.

Fees:  The registration fee is due upon registering.  You can pay on line with a credit card or check by mail.  If you choose the check by mail option, the fee must be received at the league office with 72 hours of your registration.  The forfeit fee is not collected until the March meeting.

All divisions are usually capped off at 8 teams per division/per level.  However, if early registration is heavy in any given division, we can expand to as many as 12 teams.
